MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Betia-led G-Drive Solutions played a key role in supporting the construction of several stations along the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) by supplying multiple 150 kVA generator sets in 2023. The standby power units helped ensure continuous operations at various project sites, providing reliable electricity for critical construction activities, temporary facilities, and site operations.
The deployment of these generator sets highlights G-Drive Solutions’ commitment to delivering dependable standby power systems for large-scale infrastructure projects. Construction sites often require uninterrupted power for heavy equipment, lighting, communications equipment, and safety systems. The company enabled contractors to maintain productivity even in areas where grid power was limited or unavailable during the early stages of station development.
The MRT-7 project is one of the Philippine government’s most significant urban transport initiatives aimed at addressing traffic congestion and improving public mobility in the northern corridor of Metro Manila. Once fully operational, the line will connect North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose del Monte in Bulacan, creating a major transport link between Metro Manila and the rapidly growing communities in Central Luzon. The railway line is expected to significantly reduce travel time between these areas, which currently takes several hours during peak traffic conditions.
The project will span approximately 22 kilometers and include 14 stations, traversing major thoroughfares such as Commonwealth Avenue—one of the widest and busiest roads in the country. When completed, the line is projected to serve hundreds of thousands of commuters daily, easing congestion on major road networks while offering a faster, safer, and more efficient mode of transportation.
Beyond transportation efficiency, MRT-7 is also expected to stimulate economic activity in surrounding areas by encouraging transit-oriented development. Commercial centers, residential communities, and business hubs are anticipated to grow along the railway corridor, creating new opportunities for employment, commerce, and urban development in both Quezon City and Bulacan.
As a growing leader in standby power solutions, G-Drive Solutions continues to partner with major construction and infrastructure stakeholders across the Philippines. Its participation in the MRT-7 project underscores the company’s broader mission to power the nation’s progress by supporting projects that enhance connectivity, strengthen infrastructure, and improve the everyday lives of Filipino commuters.
